Would your pooch finish last in a beauty contest? He or she could finish first at Pet Fest! Enter your dog in The Junction's live "Ugliest Dog in West Seattle" contest. Fill-out and return an entry form at Next to Nature in the Junction (4543 California Ave SW). You don't really have to believe your pet is ugly to enter. Perhaps just funny looking, or having a "bad hair day", or can be dressed up to look "ugly".  Owners and their dogs must be present at Pet Fest to be eligible, so be prepared to present your pooch at 12 noon on Sunday, April 27, under the tent behind Next to Nature and West 5. The contest is free to enter and the winner will receive a trophy and a photo in the West Seattle Herald. Homely cats are not to be left out either. Bring in a photo of your funny looking feline to Next to Nature and fill out an entry form -- before event day. (Photos no larger than 4x6 please.) Label the back of the photo with your cat's name, your name, and phone number. Entries will be displayed at Pet Fest, and attendees can view and vote that day. The tally takes place that afternoon and the "Ugliest cat in West Seattle" will be crowned. The winner also receives a trophy and photo in the Herald.

Questions can be emailed to Louis Lujan at Next to Nature
